Look, ma! No Hands! - Project Natal introduces "Milo"

6.02.2009

"We have chosen to create an experience where you can meet, what I believe, is a real character; that understands you, that understands your voices, your emotions, that's fascinated about your life." - Peter Molyneux

"This is a landmark in computer entertainment." Peter Molyneux, president of Lionhead Studios, gave a stunning presentation in front of an enormous crowd at the most recent E3 Insider Expo. In this presentation he introduced "Milo", a virtual character that is almost as real as you or me. If it weren't for the fact that he's in the TV screen, you could swear he was an actual boy. Through efforts made by Microsoft and XBOX 360, Milo was made possible by XBOX 360's newest addition to the console, Project Natal.

Those familiar with Nintendo's Wii, Project Natal takes the interactive technology two steps further. There is literally no controller. Natal captures the player's movement and translates it into a virtual experience like no other. Responding to voice commands and even using voice recognition technology, each player can interact with the virtual world of the XBOX 360.

Milo can become a part of your own life, responding to your questions, recognizing your voice and calling you by name, even sensing the emotions in your voice and responding to them accordingly. It really is a landmark in adjoining the two worlds we are living in today.

Project Natal's release date is still undisclosed, but for more videos giving you a preview into Project Natal and Milo, visit the XBOX page and check out all they have to show.
